The French Experience

What is it about France that makes it iconic of culture, art, breath-taking scenery and fine cuisine? Reputed to be the most visited country in the world, is France really worth the trip?

Let's start with the city of lights, Paris, the capital of France. Arch of Triumph and Champs-Elysées, Concorde Square, the Invalides, Eiffel Tower and Trocadero, Opera, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Louvre Museum, Orsay Museum and Madeleine Church, all known for their spectacular architecture, are just a few of the must-see sights in the city. The Louvre Museum, in particular, is known the world over for its collection of original masterpieces.

As you walk around, you will be charmed by street cafés perfect for conversation over coffee or wine and some croissant. Some of the more popular French pavement cafés include Café de Flore, Aux Folies, Les Sancerre and Chez Prune. Day or night, these street cafés are lovely places to relax and just enjoy the city.
If you're looking for fine dining, Paris has a lot of that, too. It may be pricier but if you can afford, a trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without it. Mavrommatis, Les Café de Ternes, Le Petit Acacia and Las Casbah are some examples.

France outside of the city is also very beautiful. Normandy and Brittany boast of rolling hills, pristine beaches and small harbor towns. Some French regions, meanwhile, are popular for fine wine, including pinot noirs and chardonnays. If you want to see quintessential French towns, visit the south west of France. Indeed, all these make traveling to France quite an experience.
